Privacy Notice
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This notice explains what personal information the Run the Bag Up workbook (operated by Walk With Me Impact, the "Program") collects, what it does not collect, how the information is used, and the rights you have as a California resident under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
The short version
- We will never sell or share your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or share your data for cross-context behavioral advertising or with third-party marketers — ever.
- Your workbook answers stay on your device. What you type into workbook exercises is saved in your browser's local storage. It is never transmitted to our servers.
- We only keep what we need to run the Program — your account contact info, your survey responses, and basic access records.
Information we collect
When you redeem an invite and create an account, we collect a small set of information you choose to share so the Program can function and so program staff can support you:
- Identifiers & contact info: your display name, email address, and (if provided at redemption) any cohort or invite code associated with your account.
- Authentication data: a securely hashed password and standard session tokens so you can log in. We never see or store your password in readable form.
- Entry and exit survey responses: the answers you submit in the pre- and post-workbook surveys. These are stored under your account so program staff can measure impact.
- Basic access records: account creation date, sign-in timestamps, and similar operational logs needed to keep the site secure.
Information we do not collect
- Your workbook answers. Everything you type into a workbook exercise — reflections, budgets, goals, journal entries — is stored only in your browser's local storage on the device you used. It is never uploaded to our servers, and we have no ability to read it. Clearing your browser's site data for this app will permanently erase it, which is why the app offers backup and PDF export.
- Advertising or tracking profiles. We do not run third-party advertising, use ad-tech pixels, or build behavioral profiles about you.
- Sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA (government IDs, precise geolocation, financial account numbers, health data, etc.). Please do not enter that information into the workbook or surveys.
How we use your information
We use the limited information above only to:
- create and secure your account and let you sign in;
- deliver the workbook experience and track your progress;
- let program staff review survey responses in aggregate to measure the Program's impact and improve future cohorts;
- contact you about the Program (for example, cohort updates or account-related notices);
- keep the site secure and troubleshoot technical problems.
Who can see your information
- You, when you're signed in.
- Authorized Program administrators, for the purposes described above.
- Service providers we use to host the site, database, and authentication. They act on our behalf under contract and cannot use your information for their own purposes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months, and we have no plans to do so.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage (localStorage / sessionStorage) required for the site to work — to keep you signed in, remember your accessibility and theme preferences, and save your workbook answers on your device. Because these are essential, the site will not function properly if you block them. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Data retention
We keep account and survey information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet program reporting and legal obligations. Workbook answers live only on your device and are retained until you clear your browser data or delete them yourself.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we've used it.
- Access a copy of that information.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect any).
- Opt out of sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will verify your request using the email on file for your account and respond within the timeframes required by law.
Children
The Program is intended for participants age 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without the consent required by law.
Changes to this notice
If we make material changes to this notice, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, notify you in the app.
